What brought me here

I am a psychologist specializing in clinical psychology.  I graduated in psychology with highest honors in 2010. I obtained a Ph.D. in medical biology in 2015, working in the field of psychooncology and organic diseases. I have travelled a lot around the world, for study, work and pleasure. This gave me the opportunity to meet people from other cultures, other languages and traditions. As an 'expat' who has lived and lives since many years in Italy, I can be defined as a person with different cultures, working in three different languages (English, Italian and Polish). Before coming to Italy, I acquired my practical and scientific experience studying and working in different countries, from the USA (Queen's University of Charlotte, NC - USA) to South Africa (The University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg - SA) and Poland (Collegium Medicum - University of Torun - PL). I have carried out scientific research activities at medical institutions and then moved on to clinical practice once I arrived in Italy. I work in the field of cognitive-behavioral psychology, associating to this approach the EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) – a therapeutic approach considered effective for the treatment of traumatic events, which is gaining recognition in other areas of psychological problems.

My way of being a therapist

I work in the field of cognitive-behavioral psychology, associating to this approach the EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) – a therapeutic approach considered effective for the treatment of traumatic events, which is gaining recognition in other areas of psychological problems. I work with adults and adolescents who are struggling with various life problems, who are in crisis, who encounter difficulties in interpersonal relationships. I work with expats who live or work in Italy and who have difficulties in settling in this country, who have problems in managing anxiety, feel sad, and generally have problems in adapting to the new culture. I work with people who want to live a full life, feel better in everyday life, who want to live here and now, and who want to develop potential and interpersonal resources. I pay great attention to the need for continuous professional development and I do so by constantly taking part in both training sessions and national and international professional conferences and by subjecting my work to regular supervision.
